ocr: Morocco-1884 (Kingdom of Morocco) Moulay Hassen I was the last precolonial sultan of Morocco (1873-1894). During his leadership in 1880, the Madrid Conference expanded the protection system. Abd Al-Aziz (the son of Hassen) reigned from 1894-1908. In 1904 France was granted responsibility for security and re- forms because of the Spanish invasions in 1894. The Act of Algeciras in 1906 gave twelve European countries and the U.S. equal commercial access. The act also established the Franco-Spanish Polke Force to control the ports.
